Joe Strong

Joe is a PhD Candidate at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is the research lead on this project.

His working interests are focused on masculinities, gender and sexual and reproductive health and rights. In particular, he focuses on abortion-related care. Recent projects have included a multi-country study of adolescent abortion trajectories in partnership with Ipas and as a consultant for the WHO on maternal, newborn and child healthcare.

Samuel Nii Lante Lamptey

Samuel is a trained mentor and an activist who works with Act for Change as the Programmes Manager and has over six years experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) advocacy/campaigns and programming. His interests have been in volunteer work and community engagements, acting, vlogging, music and sports.

Richard Nii Kwartei Owoo

Richard is a radio host and producer, as well as a musician, and a peer educator and actor in social theatre. In particular, he is passionate about presenting research through music and lyrics. He has worked as part of a young men brigade at church, which led to his interest in the field of masculinities.

Nii Kwartelai Quartey

Nii Kwartelai holds Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Philosophy degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon, focusing on research with underserved population, including men who have sex with men, prison inmates and sex workers. His most recent research integrates Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed with a project in modern slavery in James Town. He has also worked on the Race & COVID 19 project, based at the University of Liverpool. His latest publications with Seymah Smith can be found HERE.
